Interesting Comments/Video on Health Care

Adam Kellog, friend of mine from college, wrote some good comments about the current health care system issue and highlighted an interview and article about Wendell Potter, former Head of Corporate Communications at CIGNA (some global health care company). Interesting words.

Here's the link to Adam's blog entry if you want to read it: CLICK

I'd have to echo's some of Adam's words. I'm not a socialist, but I do think a National Healthcare System makes sense. It makes more sense then lining Wall Street's pockets. I remember watching Sick-o and thinking that maybe moving to Canda wouldn't be such a bad thing. I mean, I do like hockey, so maybe I'd fit in. But alas, it will take more than a losey healthcare system to pull me away from Chi-Town. At least for now. :)~

Yes! National healthcare system all the way. Some people are lucky enough to have great insurance... but most people, even with insurance, are one medical emergency away from bankruptcy. Sicko was a great documentary, arguably Michael Moore's best movie (and I would say his least biased). He really just let people tell their stories... and all the people in the movie HAD insurance. Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.

the government does shoddy work. looking around at the rest of what the government runs in this country does not help me put faith in them running healthcare. this isn't something I know a lot about, but I am not a fan of big government at all. not saying the current system is great, just saying that I'm not convinced the government can do a better job. wish the Kingdom of God could/would step up in this one, the way it probably should be.
