5 Ways To Keep Moving Forward When You Hit A Wall

Before starting to work on my own post for today I checked my email and found the below post from Michael Hyatt's blog. I normally don't just rehash other people's stuff on here but this was too good to not share. Highly recommend you reading this today:

Important life lesson from a Halo 4 developer

You don't have to be a video game fan to appreciate this. No...seriously.

Halo is one of the biggest video game series in history. Master Chief, the main character, is up there with Mario, Pac Man, Solid Snake, and Zelda. Halo 4, the newest chapter in the saga is currently in development and is for sure a highly anticipated title.

I read this morning that Ryan Payton, one of the creative directors for Halo 4, is stepping down from his position. This is obviously a big blow for the game's development. It also begs the question as to why he's doing it.

The whole article about his decision can be read HERE, but this is the part that really struck me:

1-2 Punch to the gut from God

Because there aren't really any radio stations that I like or can stand for long periods of time, I normally listen to audiobooks while driving and then music when I'm working or just hanging out. Yesterday morning, on the drive from Bridgeport to Oak Forest, I had a couple old songs from when I was in youth group that I couldn't get out of my head. Therefore, I put my book on hold for a trip.

2009

About 10 minutes left in the first day of the New Year.

Didn't really have an answer for Jeannette today when she asked me if I was going to make any resolutions or goals for this year. "Eat healthier" was the lame answer that came out.

But now I think I have a better answer, which I'll have to share with her tomorrow because she's in bed right now. Here's my personal goals:

- Read 60 books
- Re-develop a habit of journaling
- Develop a habit of regular blogging
- Do an in-depth study of Leviticus
- Develop a habit of regular exercise
- Hang out with people more often; especially family
- Oh...and eat better

I wanted to say to blog daily, but I know that's cliche, lame, and somewhat unrealistic.

And I'm cutting this short because I have 2min left in the day and I want to get it in on Jan 1st. I'll have to think through other goals and put them down later.
