Too fast of a finish

The last 2 1/2 weeks have been an insane whirlwind for me.

Classes finished at Moody, which meant grading over 100 papers that were around 8-10 pages a piece.  With Logos I was at the Moody's pastor's conference for a whole week.  Add to these that I performed two weddings.  All of this happened over the last 2 1/2 weeks, and I was also incredibly sick through most of it.  Today is the first breath I've had a chance to take.

This weekend we're spending time with family in southern Indiana, and part of my chilling this afternoon involves catching up on a mountain of email and finally writing a blog post.
We are incredibly grateful to all who prayed/fasted for and with Jeannette & I over the last month.  Though the month turned out to be a lot busier than we anticipated, this was a very important time for us.  It was good and it was necessary.

There haven't been huge revelations as far as the future, but there have been moments of clarity for the present.  The big things that have come out of this time are specific action steps we know we need to take:  conversations with various people, spiritual disciplines we need to strengthen, and having faith that God is working.

The biggest thing that has come from this month can be summed up with a quote from "Making of a Leader" by Robert Clinton, a book I've been reading during this prayer season.  Paraphrasing what he says, "It is most important what God does in a leader compared to what He'll do through a leader. God is always working in us and on us - and that work is most important"

He has shown me this work in a real way these last four weeks.  There have been great moments of encouragement and great moments of conviction, but through it all there has also been a vision for the future.

I'm still going to be praying & fasting for awhile, but the official season is over.  However, what God is doing goes on - and for this I'm thankful.

Looking forward to sharing along the journey.

Thank you again for your prayers!!!

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. - Philippians 1:6
