My Great Grandmother, "Grannie Parsley," passed away when I was 2 years old. Though I don't remember her, I heard over the weekend the coolest story ever.
The story also involves my Great Uncle Tommy, who was a singer and guitar player. He performed quite a bit and opened up for various people. Over the weekend we learned that he once opened for Johnny Cash!!!
That...is...amazing!
Apparently Uncle Tommy took Grannie Parsley to a Johnny Cash concert. Having opened for Cash, my Uncle was able to take Grannie backstage to meet him. Here's the rest of the story from my mom:

Obviously the time Tommy and Louise took Granny Parsley (Papa's mom) to a Johnny Cash concert she got the picture, letter written, a handshake and kiss on the cheek and he called her honey. Louise said she was like a teenager when that happened.
That's the picture he gave her and letter he wrote. I know I was too little to remember her, but her coolness level went through the roof with this story. As did my uncle's.
My uncle opened up for Johnny Cash!
My great-grandmother met him, got a letter from him, and he kissed her on the cheek!
Yeah, my family is awesome. =)
