5 simple steps to get the most amazing study Bible on the planet right now (for free)!!!

One of the most important things for someone who loves Jesus to be engrossed in is the Bible. Not to merely read it but to study it, learn it, and live out its message. That type of study takes time, work, and resources. For the last 10+ years the best tool I've found and used for my own study is Logos Bible Software. It is the most amazing resource that actually saves me time and makes the work of studying fun and easy.

I'm incredibly pumped about a new resource that Logos has recently released, a brand new study Bible called Faithlife. There really isn't anything else out there like it and it has the potential of empowering the church for Bible study like never before. Check out this short video that gives an overview:

Me & Mark Driscoll

Yesterday I was part of the Love Life conference with Mark Driscoll down in Athens, GA. Regardless of the whether you are a Driscoll fan boy or the exact opposite, his messages on love, dating, and marriage were phenomenal. The content is based on a book he has coming out in January, and subsequent speaking tour that Logos is sponsoring. Really powerful stuff, highly recommend checking it out. Based on the current schedule he'll be in Rockford next September. So you have some time to plan ahead. =)

It's worth your time to check these blogs out

Supposedly, there are 152 million blogs on the internet. "What in the world is a blog?" you might ask (please don't ask what the internet is). It is basically a way to share information. That's a pretty short, unsexy definition, but it works.

Blogs can be a way for people to record their daily ongoings and feelings, or they can be a means for corporations to share about their products and vision. There's pretty much a blog out there for any area of life, and any nuance is passionately detailed and received by those who care.

I follow about 135+ different blogs. Some are written by people that I know, most by people I've heard of. Some have to do with ministry, some with culture, some with techie news, and some are just for fun. Here's a breakdown of some of the blogs I follow that would be worth your time to check them out:

Learning from a hectic travel schedule

This has been the busiest, craziest summers of my entire life. Lots of work, lots of travel. I'm always on the move with my job, but mid-June through the beginning of August was abnormally intense. We knew going in it would be as such. Jeannette and I talked beforehand and agreed the sacrifice of time this summer would be worth it in the longrun. The experiences would help us with some of our moving expenses, plus it would allow me to get Companion Statues on Southwest so that she can travel with me. August 6th marked the end of the marathon, and things are finally going back to some type of normal. Whatever that is.

So here's a rundown of my summer marathon:

Loving what I get to do

Working with the Ministry Development team at Logos, I get to travel all over the country helping people study the Bible better.  It's an incredibly awesome and rewarding job.

My colleague Joe Miller shared this story with our team about the conference he was at this weekend:
Me presenting Logos at the Equip conference in Minnesota

Today, a guy cam to my booth after the Logos demo.  He said his mother recently died and left him some money.  Mike wanted to buy something that would have lasting value and make her proud.  He thought about buying another musical instrument, but after seeing my Logos demo, Mike felt that a tool for meaningful Bible study was the legacy his mom would want to leave him.  He bought the Scholars Library.

Simple story but so cool.

Awesome to know what we are doing is equipping people in their walk with the Lord, empowering them in their ministries, and building into their legacies.

Lo-gos? Lo-gahs?

I'm having a great week out in Seattle at Logos Bible Software.  This is an amazing company with an amazing software tool that anyone can use to study the Bible easily, powerfully, and efficiently.

Most of the emails/comments I've had the last few days ask one of these three questions:
